Our Story: From a Craving in Brisbane to a Café in Nairobi

In 1989, two friends in Brisbane went searching for a good cup of coffee late one night—and found nothing. What started as a craving turned into a bold idea: to create a café that served more than just coffee, but also connection, comfort, and conversation.

That’s how The Coffee Club was born.

Fast forward three decades, and that late-night idea has grown into a global family of over 500 cafés across 15 countries. From Australia to Thailand, the UAE to New Zealand, The Coffee Club has become known for more than its signature brews. We’ve built a reputation as the go-to meeting place for people who value quality moments as much as quality coffee.

Now, that story brings us to Kenya.

We’re proud to announce the upcoming launch of The Coffee Club Kenya, our very first location in Africa. This is more than a new branch — it’s the beginning of a shared journey between a global brand and a country with deep coffee roots.

Opening on Tuesday, 15th July 2025 at Luqman Mall, Lavington, Nairobi, our first café in Kenya will bring the same spirit we’ve nurtured around the world — warm hospitality, expertly brewed coffee, and a place to pause, connect, and feel at home.
